At Delicatus Boutique, we are proud to offer Tuesday in Love‘s innovative UV Gel Polish, a unique formula that is fully Halal Certified and wudhu-friendly.
How Does it Work? The Science of Permeability
You might be wondering how a durable UV gel polish can allow water to pass through. Traditional polishes create a solid, waterproof barrier over the nail. Tuesday in Love is different.
The magic is in its patented TIL Permeability Complex II.
Think of it like this: this special ingredient creates tiny, invisible channels throughout the polish. When you perform wudhu, these microscopic pathways allow water molecules to pass straight through the gel layer and reach the surface of your nail, just as the image below:
This ensures that your ablution is valid and complete, without sacrificing a beautiful, long-lasting, and non-peelable manicure.
Proof You can Trust: Rigorous Lab Testing
We understand that you need complete confidence in our Halal claim. That’s why every batch of Tuesday in Love UV gel polish undergoes strict, scientific testing by an independent laboratory, Direx Labs.
Instead of unreliable home tests, the lab uses highly advance equipment (specialized WVTR Permeability Analyzers) designed to precisely measure the rate at which water passes through the polish. This scientific analysis confirms that the polish meets the high standards required for water permeability, giving you the assurance that is genuinely wudhu-friendly.
For more information on the lab testing, please feel free to contact Direx Labs at support@direxlabs.com.
Halal Certification Services of Canada (HCSC)
In addition to lab testing, Tuesday in Love‘s UV gel polish is certified by the Halal Certification Services of Canada (HCSC). This certification is a testament to the product’s adherence to strict halal standards. The certification process involves a thorough review of the ingredients, manufacturing process, and overall product integrity to ensure that it meets the religious guidelines for halal products.
The Halal UV Gel Varnish by Tuesday in Love is certified by the Halal Certification Services of Canada (HCSC).
It is a type of nail polish that complies with Islamic law.
But what does that mean, exactly?
The term "halal" means "permissible" in Arabic. Simply put, the gel polish is free from any haram (forbidden) ingredients, adheres to specific ethical guidelines and allow Muslim women to perform wudhu (ablution), so they can enjoy beautiful, long-lasting nails without compromising their faith and religious practices.

Is Halal UV Gel Polish Water Permeable? Can I do the Water Permeability Test?
Unlike regular nail polish that is nitrocellulose-based, UV gel polish is made from acrylic monomers and oligomers that react to UV light. Therefore, the permeability cannot be tested with a simple “at home water permeability test” using a paper towel.
Why is it Breathable and not Water Permeable? Is there a difference?
The term “water permeable” is used when it is tested using drops of water. However, the new breathable formula is lab tested with water vapors and high-pressure gases. Therefore, legally we are required to use the term “breathable” instead of “water permeable”.
However, it is important to note that our certifying body HCSC still approves the new breathable formula for wudhu because enough water passes through.
How many layers is permissible for making wudhu?
The Halal UV Gel Polish can be layered up to a total of four coats without compromising the effects of its permeability - this includes any combination of the base coat, UV gel polish and top coat. It also includes any color that has shimmer or glitter.
Most colors however only need one coat for full coverage. Also, there’s no rubbing or added pressure required to your nails when you’re performing wudhu.
